About this site

What are the terms of using this site?

It's free to read. Nothing on it is advice, so check anything here for your own case before you act on it. The rest of this page says the same at more length.

1 · Who runs it

Who runs this site?

cyprusrelo.com is run by Maximilian Berentzen ("I", "me"). You can reach me at contact@cyprusrelo.com.

These terms apply to anyone who reads or uses the site. I may change them; the version on this page is the one that applies.

2 · Not advice

Is anything here advice?

No. Nothing on this site is legal, tax, immigration or financial advice.

The site explains how the rules work in general. It doesn't know your circumstances, and the same rule can come out differently for two companies or two people.

Reading the site or writing to me doesn't create an adviser–client relationship, with me or with anyone else.

3 · Introductions

How do introductions work, and who pays?

The site is free to read, carries no advertising, and readers never pay.

If you ask, through the form or by email, to be introduced to a relocation agency, I read your enquiry and, where it fits, introduce you to one relocation agency in Cyprus in an email to you both. If you become that agency's client, the agency pays the site.

An introduction is free and puts you under no obligation. Whatever you then agree with the agency is between you and them, on their terms. I'm not a party to it and I'm not responsible for their services.

How I handle what you send is on the privacy page.

4 · Figures

How far can you rely on the figures?

They're published in good faith. They're general, and the law changes.

They're checked with care, but I can't guarantee that every one is complete, up to date or right for your case. The details are on How figures are checked.

The "Updated" date on a page is the latest date on which one of its sources was checked.

Before you act on anything here, check it for your own case with a professional or the authority concerned. As far as the law allows, I'm not liable for loss that comes from relying on the site in place of advice on your own case.

6 · Law

Which law applies?

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus, and a dispute about them or about the site goes to the courts of Cyprus.

If you're a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, that takes nothing away from you: the rules of your own country that protect consumers, and that can't be set aside by agreement, still apply to you, and you can also bring a claim in the courts there.
